AQR Capital Management, LLC (“AQR”) is an investment management firm located in Greenwich, CT. The firm's founding principals, Clifford S. Asness, Ph.D., David G. Kabiller, CFA, Robert J. Krail, and John M. Liew, Ph.D., along with several colleagues founded AQR in January 1998. Each of the firm's founding principals was formerly at Goldman Sachs, & Co., where Asness, Krail, and Liew comprised the senior management of the Quantitative Research Group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The principals formed AQR to build upon that success and enable key professionals to devote a greater portion of their time to research and investment process development.
AQR currently manages a wide array of products, employing over 20 different sub-strategies to capture alpha or to deliver various forms of beta. The firm delivers these products as long-only strategies against a benchmark or un-constrained market neutral/absolute return strategies. Both the traditional benchmark and market neutral strategies are managed by the same portfolio teams and driven by the same underlying research.
AQR Funds were created to provide mutual funds investors access to these alternative and innovative strategies.
